Our club has several activities during the year and most importantly we come together to celebrate the major Finnish holidays. The most attended event is Pikkujoulu / Itsenäisyyspäivä in early December where a traditional Finnish Christmas meal will be served. Kalevala Peasoup in late February and a Vappu picnic in early May are the other two main events of the year.
Finlandia Club also participates in the Sacramento Scandinavian Festival in the fall.
We maintain a small library full of books in Finnish, Swedish and English along with movies and documentaries of Finland, and send a bi-monthly newsletters to our members.
Finlandia Club was formed in 1970 for the purpose of promote and further Finnish culture in the Sacramento region. Over the years the club has donated several books to local city and college libraries.
